usernameTokenManager error

add-ons

I have finally got passed all the other issues I have been having with this and now I am getting this error:

The security token could not be authenticated or authorized --> wse562: The incoming username token contains a password hash.  The built-in UsernameTokenManager does not support this type of UsernameToken.  Please see the documentation for more details on teh UsernameTokenManager.AuthenticateToken method.

I installed WSE 3.0 on the machine because the web.config for 2.1.1 Issue Tracker has it listed for the webservices.  I see that you mention somewhere else that WSE 3.0 doesn't work.  So which am I supposed to use - 2.0 with the service pack or 3.0?  Any idea on why I cannot get this thing to work?

You need WSE 3.0 if you are running Gemini 2.1.x.

Sorry, my web server was down. So I can not replicate it!

Can you please try and connect to http://gemini.countersoft.com/?

It looks like I can because I received a message asking for a valid user ID instead of the one I keep receiving.  So something is getting through.

Anything else I could check?

This points to a server issue. Are you running 2.1.x with .NET 2.0 and WSE 3.0?

The server has .NET 2.0
I installed WSE 3.0 on this server

What do you get when navigating to a web service page in a browser?

For example: http://localhost/gemini/webservices/authws.asmx

I had to create a new account, so this is still me.

Here is what I get

Are you sure that you are entering the correct password? If yes, then try an incorrect one.

Same error received with anything I try.  I tried different usernames, different passwords, etc..  I always get the same error.

Is this an upgrade (Gemini web app), if so are you using the old web.config file?

Saar Cohen

It is an upgrade, and I am pretty sure I am using the new web.config.  What do I need to look for specifically.

Search for all Microsoft.Web and make sure it is 3 and not 2 (microsoft.web.services3)

The only other thing I can think of is that you are connecting to the wrong version Gemini.

Did you check that the URL for the screen capture app is for 2.1.1?

I am not sure I understand what you are asking.  What do I need to check?  The url for the screen app?  Where do I check that?

In the upper right corner of the Gemini installation this screen app is connecting to, it says Gemini 2.1.1.  If that is what you are asking, then yes, it is connecting to a 2.1.1 gemini install.

If not, please explain where I need to check for this url.

do I need to change the "GeminiUserID"=dword:00000001 in the gsc.reg?

Of course, even with all the settings in this file, I am still able to connect to the gemini instance on your servers.  I receive an "invalid issue ID" message.

There must be a setting my server that I am missing.

I am getting a new error now:

Server unavailable.  Please try later.

This doesn't seem right because I am on gemini entering incidents.  I get this with the -d option.  Also, it is not adding anything to the system log anymore.

I messed around with the web.config, making small changes then changing them back, also making sure that I had the settings we had talked about before.  Now I am back to the original error message about the security token

"security token could not be authenticated or authorized --> WSE562"

I do have version 1.1 of the .NET framework installed (along with 2.0).  Will this cause a problem?

Also, are there any other requirements that need to be installed with WSE 3.0 - specifically .NET Framework SDK v2.0?

Not that I know of.

Can you try installing Gemini on another box to test this?

Here are install requirements for WSS 3.0:

  • Microsoft® Windows® XP Home or Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional or Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Professional or Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Server or Microsoft® Windows Server™ 2003
  • Microsoft® Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0, 5.1, or 6.0
  • Microsoft® .NET Framework version 2.0 or Visual Studio 2005 which can be installed from here.

I can see if we have another place to install.  Obviously it is something on the gemini setup, because I was able to post pics to your Gemini site.

Could you check my previous posts also please?  I posted about 4 different messages yesterday, each with other questions and things I tried.

All your other messages are not to do with this. The user id entry is not used.

Ok, well, I will see if I can get it on another site.  If there are any configuration settings I should look at on Gemini, or with WSE 3.0, or whatever, then let me know.

Also, I sent you a message yesterday to remove some pics I added to your gemini site.  I didn't realize the default password and username would send into your site.  On a positive note though, I got it to work on your site so I am sure it is something to do with the installation I have on our server.

Our installation is an update from a previous version.
