v3.1.0: IE 7 need to login again whenever clicking on a "create issue"

web-app

One of the users got the problem that whenever she clicks on "create issue", it brings her to login screen and asks her to login before it let her create new issue.  I know for sure it is not because she left the browser idle for too long that makes the session expires.

Is this something related to the cookies settings on her browser?

Is this only on create issue? Did you try edit for example?

Yes, we tried everything.  The problem did not happen for other actions, but "create issue" -> "submit".
After clicking submit button -> it takes her to the login page -> after logging in, it takes her to the issue detail view page of that particular issue she tried to created and hit submit button for.

I've tried to add the gemini page to "trusted site" on her IE7, looks like the problem is gone.  However, we are still don't understand why it behaves like that.  Is it expected behavior?

It is not expected, can you check the URL before and after it is redirected?

I found more details about this problem and I think the problem is somewhere related to the URLs (domains) that user entered and the one it redirects to.

We are having 2 different URLs that people can enter in our Gemini.

  1. gemini.company.com/gemini
  2. sourcectrl.company.com/gemini

The machine that I troubleshooted this problem on, she has it saved in her favorite as using 2nd URL.  After clicking "create issue", it takes her to the login screen with 1st URL.  I have a feeling that is the cause of the problem, but can't come up with a reasonable explanation and resolution for this.

Also, it doesn't only happen with "create issue", but also with navigating through different projects on Gemini.  Everytime the problem occurs, the URL switched to the 1st URL.  If we stay with the first URL from the beginning, the problem doesn't happen.

This is probably becuase the 1st URL is set as the Full Gemini URL setting (admin section).

Do you use the enforce full Gemini URL set to yes?

i set enforce full URL = no.  And the problem still the same.  Should i get rid of the first URL in the "full gemini url" field and leave that field blank?

Yes, setting it to no will let Gemini derrive the full URL. This works 99% of the time.

it doesn't work for me

when i clicked on the drop down menu to go to different project, it redirected me to login page.  But if I don't use the drop down menu, at the home page, i click on home of one of the projects, it goes to the right home page of the project and didn't redirect me to the login page

problem only occurs when we click on "create issue" and project drop down list

I restarted the IIS after changing "enforce gemini url" to NO.  It solved problem with clicking on "create issue" but it still has the same problem if i click on the project drop down list and select one of the project.  The URL changes to IP address when it redirects me to the login page.

I double checked by click on HOME of each listing project (instead of using project drop down list), the URL stays the same as whatever I entered (i.e. gemini.company.com/gemini/.... or sourcectrl.company.com/gemini/.....).  In short, if i stay away from using project drop down list, i won't have this problem with redirect to login page.
