Previous version - 1.9.x - Gemini SMTP Service
A couple of quick questions:
1. How do I uninstall the Gemini SMTP service that was shipped with 1.9.1 ? (I am thinking that this has now been replaced with "Gemini Scheduler Service"
2. How do I configure 2.2 do check a POP3 account for inbound email messages
Thanks in advance
Matt

Hi Matt, 1. You don't. Previously email alerts were handled by the Mail Plugin that worked within the Gemini Web Application. Now we ship a separate service (eventually this servcie will do stuff like end-of-day report, periodically check mailboxes and create issues). 2. Currently we ship a separate mailbox processor that handles such things. This will get merged into Gemini Scheduler Service. Hope this helps.

Sorry - not sure if I understand you. There is a service running called Gemini SMTP service that is from the old 1.9.1 version. Are you saying NOT to remove this? |

Yes, you do need to uninstalll the mailbox processor. See secion 7.2 of the user guide: http://www.countersoft.com/downloads/temp/Gemini.pdf Then upgrade to the latest version and install the new mailbox processor. |

OK... Just to update: 1. I had 1.9.x installed How do I uninstall / remove the previous tool - I can then remove the old Gemini WEB directory (new Gemini located in a new physical location [default install])... ? Everything seems to work fine currently except email.. Thanks in advance Matt |

You need to navigate to the folder where the mailbox processor resides and issue this command (uninstall). |

OK - that did it. I ran the following command and then restarted IIS: C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\installutil /uninstall "[DRIVE]\Gemini\bin\MailBox Processor\GeminiSMTP.exe" Thanks Matt
