Registered users cannot post comments

web-app

Hi

We are using Gemini 2.0.5
We have a number of private forums where people cannot post issues, but can view them and comment.
We have a public forum where anybody can view issues, log issues and comment.

Recently we withdrew the ability to post new issues and comments anonymously, however this has effected permissions to post a comment.

Right now....
The public forum works as explained before, although anonymous users cannot post comments. This is fine (just like we want it).
However in the private forum, no registered users can post comments any more (note we are happy that anonymous users cannot post comments).

Could anybody tell us how we could fix it so that registered users can post comments in all forums?

Many thanks...

Hi,

Do registered users who can see Private Issues post comments?

No, standard registered users can 't post comments the these private forums, but we want them to = The problem.

(Note they can't post issues in these private forums, nor do we don't want to change this behaviour).

Many thanks...!

You need to check the security scheme for these users and make sure that "Create Comment" is allowed.

Thanks, have emailed the gemini administrator about this and will report back. He might even post here himself. - Thanks for your help.

Ah one more thing.... everyone can add links between issues. But nobody can edit or delete links between issues (even admin!). Ideally we want:

a) People to be able to edit/remove links that they created themselves.
b) Administrators be able to edit/delete any link

Any idea?

You should see an 'X' to the right of the link. This will delete the link.

There is no edit link function.

Sorry for late response. No sorry don't see a red X next to the link other than the "bug" icon itself (Type_Bug.jpg image).

How do we gain permission to do this?

Many thanks...

Are you logged in as admin? You should see it to the right of the status of the issue that you are linking to.

I only have editable rights in some forums.

I'm trying to find out for the administrator how he can grant me rights in some forums to delete links. Apparently nobody (even him) can delete the links either. Do you know where the permissions may be enabled? Many thanks....

Admin (any) should be able to delete links.

How would administrators grant rights?

Administrators, project admin and issue admin should be able to delete links.

So if you are an issue admin, you should see the X to the right of the link.

Thanks for last post...

I can confirm admin can delete links now.. Can "issue workers" be allowed to delete links, or normal users who have created their own links from their issue to another issue, and then realised they've made a mistake?

Sorry for the lame Q's - cheers!

Only admins (global, project and issue) can do so.

Great thanks...!

If anyone is listening from countersoft, it would be great to have on the roadmap the ability to allow/disallow any type of user to be able to delete links (permission granted by the administrator of course).

Would also be good to have an option to allow normal users to delete their own links that they created if so desired by the administrator.

Many thanks for your help...!
