RAD editor bugs in firefox

web-app

The issue text editor appears to be by rad controls. The image manager dialog is a javascript dialog that is not working correctly with firefox, at least at my zoom level. I use a minimum font size of 16 which causes the scaling problem. The image upload panel button "Upload" is hidden, the dialog is cutoff on the right side. A way to show the file upload button is to press tab. But this leads to other display cutoff issues. RAD needs to fix their control so the dialog layout is correct for larger fonts.

You can change to FreeTextBox in the web.config file.

Is there any other way to file a bug on this?

FTB would be worse in my opinion, but I haven't used it in a long time. Perhaps they fixed all the bugs.

I keep trying to use this editor is Firefox and none of the buttons work. I can write plain text into it and that's it. No extra features, can't even just copy/paste into it.

Please make sure that you have upgraded to the latest release of Gemini (2.1.1).

We know of issues with 2.0.5.

I've got exactly the same problem with Firefox 2.0.0.4 and Gemini 2.1.1. Switching to FTB does not help, as Gemini will report this as serious security incident when editing or creating new comments with HTML characters in it.

Please fix!

We have quite a few customers who use FireFox with no issues. What are the issues?

See http://gemini.countersoft.com/Default.aspx?p=2&i=1189 regarding the FreeTextBox issue.

Hi! I have also the same Problem with Firefox 2.0.0.4 (German) and the RAD editor:
None of the buttons are working and I can only enter plain text. The FTP also produces the security error...

I have updated from 2.0.5 to 2.1.1 today.

Can you try it on our 2.2 BETA http://beta.countersoft.com?

All,

This SHOWSTOPPER issue is now tracked at http://gemini.countersoft.com/Default.aspx?p=2&i=1332.

This is an environment related issue as some Gemini instances ARE WORKING correctly with FireFox 2.0.0.4 and Gemini 2.1.1 -- RAD Editor works.

We have escalated this issue to Telerik (RAD controls vendor) and are awaiting a response. In the meantime, please visit the above issue to help us close down ASAP.

This issue is now preventing Gemini release 2.2 from shipping.

Please check if you have any FireFox extensions installed that may block/limit JavaScript or IFRAME handling.

I have just upgraded from 2.0.5 to 2.2.3, and am now experiencing this issue on a machine using FireFox 2.0.0.8.  All of the toolbar buttons and droplists above the edit window show up just fine, but they don't actually work.  If I click on any of them, they do not respond.  It is as if they are dead.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling FireFox and removing all add-ons, but nothing seems to make a difference.  Is anyone else still having this same problem?

Thanks!
Brock

Can you please test it on our site: http://gemini.countersoft.com?

Wow.  It seems to work just fine on your site.  The only difference is that it says version 2.2 on your site, but 2.2.3 on mine.  My subscription has expired in the licensing.  I'm going to update it now, but I doubt that has anything to do with it.

I do see this in the "Error Console" inside FireFox:

Error: uncaught exception: Permission denied to get property Window.addEventListener

and also this:

Error: RadEditorNamespace.ServerRenderingInitializer is not a function
Source File: http://developers/Gemini/WebResource.axd?d=gn0V1f7JsuFX5T5O688B0i6CvKxgcGRtDjd9Qbcug7u09A26btvXPI7M2fZfpEi8A5Fistk4I-H6Tz8IwMUt9MWtLZPG-bVjWLiAAPAk1&t=633183861940000000
Line: 2631

and finally, this:

Error: [Exception... "'Permission denied to get property Window.addEventListener' when calling method: [nsIDOMEventListener::handleEvent]"  nsresult: "0x8057001e (NS
ERRORXPCJSTHREWSTRING)"  location: "<unknown>"  data: no]

Maybe that points to something...

Nevermind!  I didn't have the full URL to Gemini setup correctly in the Admin settings.  I guess that was causing some strange issues only on certain computers.  Hmmmmmmm.

Thanks!
