Gemini provides over 40 permissions that can be used to secure access to projects, items and the actions that can be performed within projects.

Here is an explanation of the permissions – the key permissions are highlighted.

Project Administration

Can add Components, Versions, etc. and has all below permissions

View Project

Can view the project

Can Work On Items

Can work on Items – a project resource

View Documents

Can view Documents stored within project

Manage Documents

Can add and remove Documents

View Schedule

Can view project Schedule

Manage Schedule

Can amend Schedule and create ad-hoc or recurring appointments.

Project Planner

Can use the visual Planner tab to drag drop items.

Item Administration

Can add, delete and perform any action on any Item, etc. and has all below permissions

Only View Own Items

User can only view items assigned to them or reported by them

Create Item

Can create Item in project

Edit Item

Can create Item in project

Edit Own Item

Can edit Item that was created by the user

Batch Edit Items

Can use Batch Edit facility in project

Delete Item

Can delete Item from project including all associated data

Delete Own Item

Can delete Item created by user from project including all associated data

Assign Resource

Can set resources when editing an Item

Assign Version

Can assign Version when editing an Item

Set Item Visibility

Can set Item visibility option when editing an Item

Update Item Progress

Can change both Item Status and Resolution of an Item within the project

Close Items

Can close an Item. This permission is required to close Items.

Resolve Items

Not in use at the moment

Link Item

Can link two Items together

Move/Copy Item

Can move or copy an Item either within the same or different project

Create Comment

Can create a comment on an Item

Edit Comment

Can edit an existing comment on an Item

Edit Own Comment

Can edit comment on an Item that was created by the user

Mark Closing Comment

Can mark a comment as “Closing” when creating/editing a comment

Delete Comment

Can delete a comment on an Item

Delete Own Comment

Can delete a comment on an Item that was created by the user

View Item Watchers/Voters

Can view who is watching the Item

Set Item Watchers

Can set watchers for an Item

View Time Logs/Reports

Can view time log entries for Items

Log Time

Can record time against an Item

Manage Time Logs

Can record time against an Item and remove time log entries

View Source Control Files

Can view an Item’s associated source control files

Link Source Control Files

Can link source control files manually to an Item
