Does anyone know how to produce these reports?
Hi,
- I need a report to show me what issues have been completed in a specific timeframe i.e. if I want to know what work has been done in the previous week, I can put that week in as the params to some sql and hey presto it tells me.
- % bugs turned around same day for period for specified user
- Summary of the time spent per version of the application
There are many more but these are the core ones for now.
I've been rolling out my own SQL for a while now to do this but I had to use the Start Date field (I renamed it to Actual Finish Date) and got the developers to use that field once they had completed it.
This was fine but then I could not use the Gannt chart feature of the application hence am looking for other ways to work this out. If anyone has any SQL code that can help, i'd appreciate seeing it.
Will Gemini be rolling out a reporting solution anytime soon?
Regards
Si

We are looking to incorporate an external report designer tool with Gemini. Something like this: http://www.devexpress.com/Products/NET/XtraReports/ Thoughts? |

Report generation (lack of) has caused a lot of grief, Gemini to take a big, negative hit here last year.
As you can see, everyone is VERY interested in aging reports all along the way. Hope this helps you view the problem of:

I agree. We already use XtraReports in house and is a good product however the fact that you do not have anything in progress or available tells me that I shall be waiting months before something is available - that coupled with the lack of foriegn keys in the db makes it very difficult for people to write custom sql. Now that I know nothing is in the pipeline for reports in the imminent future and the lack of priority support that I paid for when we bought the licence just shows me that Countersoft are not that interested - I will have to start looking for a replacement for Gemini (any suggestions welcome). hi Si, Your frustration is understandable. Just some notes to help you get our side of the story: 1. We are focusing on both source code licensing and localisation for the coming release. Why? Because tThese two items have been the most requested items to date. Poeple wan the source code so they can customise and improve Gemini as they see fit. 2. Reporting will be done! Internally, it is slated for 2.2 release (release after next). We want two things: ship core reports out of the box, and, provide a standalone report writer for folks to produce their own reports! 3. As for priority support -- we provide this to allow such customers to get quicker responses to support issues. We do care, but it is sometimes difficult to be all things to all people. In the meantime, we will endevour to see if we can get you the code for your reporting requirements for next release (June). Just drop us any additional requirments to our support email address. Regards, |

Hi, Thanks for the reply. Source licencing is of interest to me as we can then modify to suit our requirements - I really don't want to have the hassle of scoping an alternative project. Just to pick up on point 3 about the priority support, I paid for the support but the one thing I have never had is notification about any new or upcoming releases, some emails not replied to at all and obviously no access to the priority support side on this forum. Si, You should now have access to the Priority Support forum. You should have a received an email inviting you to request a Priority Support account on the forums -- clearly this did not make it to you. Hope all is sorted now. |

Personally, when I need any reports not catered, I use SQLServer Reporting Services.
Harvey, is there any chance that Countersoft could produce some RS templates for people to download and deploy? That would be useful in my view. |

When will we see the source code availability. I was under the impression that I was able to download the source code when I purchased this product. Thanks Dave |

Source code licensing will be available later this year. May I ask how did you get this impression? |
