Mail box Processor, only create new issues?

Does the mail box processor create only new issues? if i reply to an email and enter the issue ID in the subject for example, can it create a comment with the email text in it?

The mailbox processor only creates new issues.

However, commercial license holdrs (2.2 onwards) have access to the source and can change this quite easily.

I have just been looking through the source code for it (though we only have 2.1)

I think we will be writing something to handle this so once its done, can we submit it back (like the 3rd party time tracking application?)
