Setting Related Item works from one direction but not the other

items

One of our developers was having trouble setting a Related Item on a particular Gemini issue (ie. Setting Issue #1 as a Related Item to Issue #2). After being able to reproduce the issue in multiple browsers, I finally tried going to Issue #1, and setting Issue #2 as a Related Item to it. This WORKED! Is there an explanation for this behavior. I'm assuming as long as the Related Items field is editable, it can be set to any existing issue.

Let me know.

Thanks.

What was the difference between your test that worked and those that didn't?

Hmm.. I'm not sure exactly where to start looking to answer your question. Lots of differences between the 2 issues as far as meta data (issue types, status, priority, etc..)but not exactly how that helps. Both issues were in the SAME project so its not like it was cross-project. What else can I look for that would be relevant information to a related items issue?

The use case was basically, opening an issue, choosing to 'edit' the related items field, and adding the 2nd item's ID in the field. When I clicked to 'confirm' (via the checkmark), nothing happened in the first scenario, but it was successful in the 2nd.

Was there a link between the issues (eg from the 1st to the 2nd) and you were trying to create from the 2nd to the 1st? Maybe send us some screenshots that show the problem.
