More email alert with gemini 5

items
emails

Hi,

I currently evaluating gemini 5.

I want to find a way to receive notification by mail when an issue is created/modified on a project, like with gemini 4. I created an AppNav to view updates, but it gives me the list of changed items, but no email received unless issues are assigned to me. Popup menu on appNav only give list of changed items, but no way to know if it is created, modified, commented. Old fashioned emails were giving this level of details.

Did you subscribe to email for the AppNav card? If so, make sure that the stream service is running.

  • I did a appNav card, with all items of my project (only filter is project) and subscribe (created, updated, comment)
  • Stream service for version 5 was not running (only for version 4) so it is now installed and running.
  • There is alert for each available type I need (created, resourced, appnavalerts, watchers)
  • system option is configured to send auto emails to creator/reporter and to assigned resource
  • my account is set to receive email alerts and email me my changes

Result : * I receive notification when issue is assigned to me, or when an issue assigned to me or created by me is modified * For other items, not created by me or assigned to me, I can see changed items using appnav card popup, but no email notification

--> As project manager, I need to have notification of any change on this project. What more can I do to have emails for all changes on all items as using gemini 4?

Can you please check if the alert setting is set to instant or batched in the Customize section (under system -> alerts)

I checked with my IT guy who did the upgrade. He shut down the stream service of V5 because of conflict with version 4.2.1. He sets also alerts to batched notification instead of instant.

No improvement about emails notifications, I still have alert for issues assigned to me but not when comments are added on those issues.

ANSWER

You need to have the stream service running and set the alerts to batched. However, we have released 5.1.5 today which doesn't need the stream service installed. Suggest you upgrade to it.
