Gemini 5.1 Affected Systems / Business Area / Business System field data

admin

The lastest version of Gemini (v5.1.1.3564) has the fields Affected Systems, Business Area, and Business System which appear to be droplists. I would like to be able to update the values in these fields but can not find the screen that will allow me to modift the current values. How can I customise the values for these fields?

Also, there are a number of new fields that have been added from Gemini v4. While most are obvious, there a few that I'm not certain as to their intended use. Is the any documentation describing these new fields and their intended use and data type?

Thanks Terry

Terry,

Have a look at the docs section and see if it helps you understand the set up under Gemini 5.

You should go towards Customize -> Templates for your selected template and then click on Custom Fields. If the custom field you can then click on the icons far right to change custom fields setup and data.

Have been reviewing the documentation. The Terminology section is good, but I have not yet found anything that explains to me the definition or usage of (non custom) fields such as "Points" or "Votes". Only limited number of fields such as "Severity" and "Priority" are listed in the terminology section.

Through experimentation it appears that the Component field from v4 has been mapped to a number of different fields in v5 (eg Affected Systems, Business Area, Business System, ...). While all the component fields are available to added the the issue screens, I can only update the field (Affected Systems or Business Area or Business System) that is the mapped component for the project, which is done via the Settings option for each project. Is my understanding of the implementation of the component field in v5 correct?

Thanks Terry

That's inaccurate, component is still component. It looks like these are your own custom fields.

I understand the source of my confusinon regarding the fields. Our starting point was the "blank" database that came with the Gemini v5 install, which included some predefined templates and what look like some example projects. I can see now that each of the templates that came with the install has a XML file where the labels of some fields have been modified. What I thought were different fields between the templates were actually the same fields just labelled differently.
