Converse with 3 users free evaluation
Hello. Seems converse plug in does ignore incoming emails (no ticket creation). We are currently evaluating Gemini in free 3 users mode. Do we need a special license to make Converse accept incoming emails to create tickets? (we did install scheduler service, and event log in debug mode does not show any error message). Thanks.

Yes, please ask for a trial key: http://www.geminiplatform.com/free-trial ··· I did. The 'test' icon of converse says STMP processed, Found 3 messages (I tried 3 times...) but no ticket gets created...User25595Wednesday, April 18, 2012, 6:15:18 PM

Do you get any messages in the event viewer from the scheduler? Do you see messages about Converse? Also, check that your trial key has not expired. |

No, as I told you, no error message in event log. I got the trial key some 90 seconds ago, so I guess it has not expired yet ;-) But I think was too impatient, the inbound messages just got processed. Is the "5 min" parameter in the STMP settings the period of the IMAP interrogation? Thanks for the support. |

Please restart the scheduler service and post all messages from it. |

Problem is solved. As I wrote you, "But I think was too impatient, the inbound messages just got processed". Is there documentation about the Security options? I wanted to stop external users being able to browse other projects than the one they submitted a ticket to, but I cannot do it. I tried to pur "anonymous users" into the "external users" but to no avail. In order to avoid bugging you with my questions, is there a detailed documentation about that? Thanks for the support. |

··· You can look at the docs section of this site. Also, make sure you don't give the "everyone" group permissions as all users belong to itMark WingWednesday, April 18, 2012, 7:02:24 PM

Well, I must be dumb... ;-) I cannot figure out which permission to set (and how) to disable an anonymous user from looking to another project than the one he submitted a ticket to. Can you please give me a hint? |

Go to each permission set and remove "everyone" from the view project permission. That should do it. |

No, it seems not. Perhaps I was not clear... When an inbound message enters the system, and automatically creates a ticket, the sender receives a mail message with an URL link at the top, with something like [Click here to view the issue] linked to http://mysite/main.aspx?p=num1&i=num2 What if the user changes the URL and tries http://mysite/main.aspx?p=num3&i=num4 ? |

That depends on their permissions if they are allowed to see the project AND the item then they will see the item page otherwise they will be redirected to the main page. |

But how can an anonymous client (the one that clicks on the link in the email, because he submitted a bug) can be enabled to one project, and not to the other? I cannot see how Gemini can identify an anonymous user when he/she just clicks on a URL hyperlink (or there is definitively something I did not understand). (thanks for your patience... ;-)) |

I see, anonymous users cannot be distinguished. In that case I would not allow anonymous access and let Converse alert them about changes etc... You can customize the email that Converse sends to not send the link. |

Is this feature planned for a future release? URL could contain a &CODE=[hashvalue] that would only allow access to sa single item, for example. Anyhow, thanks! |
