Unable to setup Converse plug-in

add-ons
converse

Working with the 30 day trial. I have setup a dedicated mailbox for converse. I enter in the appropriate information using POP. Everything is set to defaults. When I test I receive:

Wrong account name and/or password. The server responded: -ERR Command is not valid in this state..

If I put in knowingly the wrong information, I still receive the same message. I do receive the test message it says No messages found followed by the error. Not sure what I'm missing, must be something I'm overlooking.

Did you set the mailbox authentication mode? What are you using as your pop server (Exchange or gmail)?

It's currently set to AUTO - I've tried all the others, the only one that comes back with a different message is APOP (None of the specified authentication methods is supported by the server).

This is an Exchange 2007 Server.

I've even put in my account credentials just in case a typical domain user doesn't have enough permissions. Same issue.

Did you enable and started POP in exchange?

Yes - started for this reason only mind you.

Can you send a screenshot of the setup to support at countersoft dot com?

I think I've tried just about everything, but I believe I found a resolution. I have the POP setup to require a secure TLS connection. I've installed the SSL cert on the Gemini box, but maybe there must be more to it. I just changed POP to Basic Authentication and now I'm getting a successful reply message.

I'm not sure this would be considered best practice.
