'source' field not showing up on Create Task Screen

i'd like to be able to enter an email address in the 'source' field, when creating a task. it is selected on the edit screen (see attached screen shot) but does not appear when logged in and adding a new task.

any thoughts?

The source field cannot be populated via the UI it is only via the add-ons.

currently if someone emails support@mydomain.com a ticket gets created via Converse. and the person who sent the email is updated when anything changes in the ticket. however, if someone phones in, we'd like to enter there email address in, somehow????? so they will get status notification.

are you telling me this is not possible?
