Cannot connect to gemini with Data Import

Hi,

Here is my senario:

I need to import gemini projects from one company to an other. Company A (source) runs under gemini v3.6.3 Build 2590 ; they host it Company B (target) runs under gemini v4.0.1 (build 3038) ; is it histed by CounterSoft (i.e. link is http://rt)

I am using "CounterSoft Gemini Data import" v4.1.1 build 3136

I have a gemini admin account for both gemini in Company A & B

I should be able to:

  • start "Gemini Data import" and connect to the Company B (target)
  • in the "gemini" tab enter the information regarding the Company A (source)
  • select the projects & run the import

Problem: When I lauch "Gemini Data import", there is a first login screen. I am able to connect the Company B however in the "Gemini" tab, under "Source Login" when I enter the URL, login & password for Company A and then click on the "Fetch" button I get a popup saying "Invalid user name / password". (see attachement)

Note that I can also connect to Company A on the initial login screen of "Gemini Data import" (like if I wanted Company A to be the target). The same URL/uer/pass is used in that case as the one provided in the [Tab "Gemini"]>["Source Login" section] as described in the previous paragraph.

Note that when connect on "Gemini Data import" with the Company A crentials, and if I enter the Company A credentials again in the [Tab "Gemini"]>["Source Login" section] I am able to view the projects of Company A in the "Projects Imported Into Gemini" (they are all grayed out and checked). This is also the case if the connect with Company B and use Company B as a source. I then see Company B projects. This shows thet the "Gemini Data import" tools seems to work "enought" to fetch som data.

Would it be possible that the Gemini>Gemini import only work if they are in the same network ?

Could you please help us on this matter.

No, it should work no matter where the sites are located. You will need to match the user credentials between the 2 instances (same username and password).

Thanks, this worked for the login part.

I however get the following message now when I click on "Fetch": "Source and destination gemini versions should be same"

Too bad this was not mentionned in the "Gemini Data Import User Guide". (it only says supported for v3.5+). I am trying to go from 3.6.3 > 4.0.1

I think the only solution I've go is to upgrade the source gemini from 3.6.3 to 4.0.1 to be able to run the import tool properly.

As said in my previous comment, I when towards the solution where I want to upgrade our gemini 3.6.3 that we host (I am from Company A) to the gemini 4.0.1 (build 3038) that is used by Company B and hosted by CounterSoft .

The problem I have is that I can't get a hold of the v4.0.1 from you web site as you only have the latest version v4.1.1 available for download.

This is a one shot import process we need to run, so could you provide a download link for the current CounterSoft hosted version of Gemini which is v4.0.1 (build 3038) ?
