API/SDK for non .net systems?

api

Hi.

We are using an older version of Gemini (2.x something) and are planning on developing a portal web site for general customer- and internal usage. Within this portal we would like to have integration towards gemini (for bug reporting etc).

The question is, are we forced to choose a .net system for our web site? Our initial plan was to use apache and php (LAMP server) because of our web developers experience..
Also, would upgrading to a later version of gemini affect our decision?

Any info is appriciated.

2.x uses SOAP or MS WSE as web services protocol. So you should be able to integrate with non .NET but it will not be easy.

However, 3.5 supports REST web services which makes integration with non .NET client very simple.

Or at least, 3.5 will be easier once we have some docs ;-).

(They should be here RSN... see the Documentation thread in this forum.)

Ah, thanks alot for the API site too.  Looks promising for both .net and others.
I will propose a 3.5 upgrade to the company big shots :-)
