CounterSoft Gemini Scheduler Error

Hi there,

A user asked me recently why they had stopped getting e-mails to notify them a job was assigned to them. I checked the event log and this is what I found:

CounterSoft.Gemini.WebServices - Invalid URI - Requested Resource could not be found. - at CounterSoft.Gemini.WebServices.BaseService.ThrowResponseException(WebResponse response) at CounterSoft.Gemini.WebServices.BaseService.ProcessResponse[T](String url, Object obj, RequestType requestType) at CounterSoft.Gemini.WebServices.IssuesService.GetIssueAlertRecepients(Int32 issueId) at CounterSoft.Gemini.Scheduler.EmailAlertsProcess.ProcessIssueAlerts()

Now other IT admins have been installing SharePoint on that box but would be surprised if that caused this error. I've reinstalled the scheduler (ver 3.5.4.2435) to no avail it still does not work.

There was a post here that I found which mentioned something about old alerts in the gemini_issuealerts table so I cleared that out however still no joy. The scheduler service logs the jobs that are sent to the helpdesk e-mail automatically okay it just does not send alerts.

Any ideas before I reinstall Gemini?

Did clearing the table not help at all? If so, please make sure that the scheduler URL is correct.

Hello,

Thank you for your update, sorry for my delay in getting back to you, I've been on leave for a few days. Anyhow yes truncating that table stopped the errors in the event log which is great.

However we still don't receive any e-mail notifications when a job changes etc. When we send e-mails to the Help Desk address they are logged into Gemini correctly we just don't get any notifications.

When I update a job I can see a new record written to the gemini_issuealerts table so that's okay. I've turned on the mailbox debug mode to Yes so I can see if there are any errors in the logging file but there are none that I can see.

How can I troubleshoot not receiving e-mail notifications for updates / assigned etc. FYI I have turned on all mailbox notifications both in the administration centre and at the individual project level.

FIXED

Hello,

Just an update to the above, truncating the table stopped the errors. When I changed the setting in Gemini so that I received my own updates via e-mail everything is okay.

It's too early in the year for me but appreciate your assistance :)

However, if this happens again we would appreciate if you can backup, zip and send us the database.
