Mailbox processor and alerts

emails

What is the difference between Notify and Acknowledge in the Reply setting for the mailbox processor?

Also, does "Use Sender as Issue Reporter" only work when the sending email address matches a user's? I would assume so. If you're using windows authentication and the user hasn't opened Gemini yet, their account won't exist, so I assume this won't work, correct?

Lastly, I've run some tests and someone that is sending emails to the gemini mailbox is getting two notifications for each issue. One in HTML and the other in plain text. Do you know the reason for this? Does it have to do with them being assigned to the project? Perhaps they're getting one from the issue creation in the project and one from the mailbox processor?

Thanks, Chris

Notify will keep the user updated on every update to the issue. Acknowledge will just let them know that their issue has been created.

You are correct about the "use sender", user must be registered in Gemini.

As for the duplicate emails, this seems starnge. Does it happen to all users?

Can it be that the user has 2 users associated with his email in Gemini?

Actually, this may have been when using the "test" function of the mailbox processor config vs. the scheduler. I didn't have it installed at the time.

Thanks, Chris

Ok, I thought this was an issue with the test functionality, but it's not. Basically it was an artifact of starting off with the sample DB and adding an issue with the mailbox processor.

I added the issue, and the mailbox processor was set to notify, so I got an alert because someone commented. This email was sent in plain text. I also got an alert because I was assigned to the issue and I commented on it, and my profile was set to email me my changes.

A little confusing, but mystery solved.

thx, Chris
