Can't change status with Batch Update

I have a set of tasks that are all in the same project and the same component, and have the same type, severity, and resolution. I'm trying to use the Batch Update feature to modify them all at once by using a filter to narrow to just the tasks I'm interested in and then clicking the Batch Update link underneath the list. I want to change the Status field and two custom fields.

In versions prior to 3.6, I periodically had an issue doing this where the Status menu would not list any of the values that should be available, but would show only the "<Ignore>" option. Any of logging out and back in, temporarily switching browsers, or just coming back later would fix it, seemingly randomly.

I'm now experiencing it again in 3.6, except this time, I've not been able to get it to work right. I've tried a few times over the last couple of days; have used the latest versions of OmniWeb, Safari, and Firefox (all on the Mac); and have logged out and back in many times, all to no avail. Still nothing but the ignore option in the Status menu.

I've had two teammates give it a try. One of them, using a similarly-configured computer, saw the same thing. Another, using Firefox on Windows, had it work.

Any ideas?

Does this only happen with the status field? Does it happen for a specific project?

Also, check that you have the "close issues" permission.

  • I've had it happen in more than one project.
  • I've only seen it with the Status field, but I can't state unequivocally that it only affects that field.
  • I do have the Close Issues permission. (I'm an administrator.)

Oh, and I can go through and make the same changes to each issue manually. I just can't do it in batch.
