Gemini 2.0.5 Issue Tracker, Firefox 2.0.0.12, Context Menu, Spellcheck

web-app

Hi;

My company is using Gemini 2.0.5 ( the issue tracker ).
I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.12

When I am typing in a comment in a ticket Gemini prevents my Firefox context menu from coming up.  I find this really annoying as there are things on that context menu I want to use.   Is there anyway to make Gemini stop from doing this?   I already tried the Firefox option to prevent scripts from taking over the context menu.

Thanks in advance

Is this when using the RAD editor?

If you mean the editor with all of the buttons for HTML around the perimeter of the text box for the comment, then yes.

So, it is only when using the RAD editor? You can change Gemini to use normal text area for this.

I can't tell if it is onlyy in the RAD editor, as I can't find a way to turn the RAD editor off. I went to my profile link and did not see any options.    The HTML enabled editor for THIS forum doesn't interfere with my context menu

In 2.0.5 the setting is in the web.config file. Set it to FreeTextBox.

Would web.conig be a file on my hard drive?    If it is a file on the server where Gemini runs then that is not an option as half our company uses Gemini and I don't think they would be happy with having me change their preference.

I see. Yes, it is stored on the server and will change for everyone.

Thanks for gathering that information for me.

CounterSoft, if it hasn't in later versions of Gemini might want to consider making that a preferences available to individual users.    Similar web software, like most web board software packages already do something similar by giving people their choice of editors.

If the RAD editor isn't a 3rd party tool CounterSoft may also want to consider modifying the RAD editor so that it doesn't take over people's context menu.   From what I can tell the RAD context menu doesn't do anything more than the browsers context menu.  In fact, it does less, since you can't use its "copy" and "paste" menu options and it interferes with customizations that might exist in the browser context menu.

Thanks again for researching this for me.  I guess I am just stuck until a new version of Gemini comes out and my company upgrades.
