Field Visibility Schemes help
Hi!
I cannot find any help in the manual regarding field visibility schemes. Can anybody describe in brief how this feature is used? I would like to hide the 'Affected Versions' field from all aspects of the application. Is this possible?

Yes, basically, you apply a field visibility scheme per issue type and one for the project issue list view. Create a scheme that hides the field in question and assign that scheme to all types and the project issue list (via admin -> projects -> Edit) |

Thanks for the prompt reply! |

Is the custom field associated with the project (custom field def)? |

Of course it is. The field was visible. It was hidden now that I created the visibility scheme. |

Please check the field visibility scheme and see is the field is selected and what group is assigned to view it. |

I am also trying to work this out but have a more basic question. When creating a field visbility scheme there is a list of all fields and a combo box with all user groups. You can set a check box to on against each field and then select or deselect the user group. I don't understand how to remove a field from view. What does the checkbox do and what is the implication of highlighting a user group. What I was looking for was a way to either delete the field or delete a user group. Neither seems to be possible. I have tried a few things but have not yet managed to be able to hide any field from the create issue process. Can you tell me how it works? Thanks |

The tick box is there to allow you to hide the field for all users (unticked that it). If you tick it then it will be visible to the user group(s) selected. |
