Users unable to change issue status, resolution or assignment

web-app

Gemini version 3.7.2

I have a security scheme set up with "Assign Resource" and "Update Issue Progress" granted to a project group "Issue Worker".

That security scheme is set as the scheme used by my project (ACME, for testing purposes), and my test user is defined as an Issue Worker in the ACME project's administration | project groups page.

Yet, when I log in as my test user, I am not able to change an issue's assignment, status or resolution.

Have I missed a step somewhere?

Thanks,
Nigel.

I should add that, if I add "Administer Issues" to the permisisons granted by my securoty scheme to the Issue Worker project group, then the user is able to do the above. Trouble is, they are then also able to do things like delete an issue, which I definitely don't want them doing...

You still need to give the user the edit issue permission.

Ah, right, yes that does it. One little wrinkle, though - the user is then able to change the Resolution value in the Issue.aspx page or when creating a comment, but not on the ViewIssue.aspx page.

Other fields (Priority, Severity, Status, Assigned To, Component, Versions Affected, Risk Level, Start Date, Due Date, Percent Complete) become edit controls when the user clicks on them, but not Type, Resolution, Reported By, Fixed In Version or Visibility. Some of those may be deliberate for some reason (the same occurs if you are a system administrator), but two (Resolution and Fixed In Version) are editable on ViewIssue.aspx with admin rights, but not with Edit Issue.

This is probably due to field visibility scheme setup.
Send us a zipped backup of the database and we can look into it (support at countersoft dot com)

I don't have any field visibility schemes in use?

Did you ever find a resolution for this issue? We are running in to the same problem.

Did you check your field visibility schemes?

I just rechecked them, and it looks like the inline editing on the ViewIssue page is controlled by the "Edit Stage" scheme, not the "View Stage" scheme. I cleaned up those permissions, and it's working as expected now. Thank you.

ANSWER

When editing wi(inline or otherwise) Gemini will use the edit stage visibility scheme for the issue type.
