To fix open the users table in SQL and add G! in the Roles column for your account.

Thanks for the reply I did remove and re-add the G! in the Roles column but this did not change the problem. Any other suggestions?
Thanks

Are you using Windows authentication? Are other Administrators able to see the Administration link? |

What happens if you log in (as admin) and try navigating to: http://...../admin/SysAdmin.aspx? |

Are you sure you have the "G!" setup for your user? Can you check the error log table in sql? Also, what has changed in your system? |

Yes I am sure about "G!" in the user table. I have checked the error log but the only errors that I see are logged out users searching the application this throws an error. The individual user rights on the server have changed meaning that I used to have Admin rights on the server but do not have them now. The database was installed with a db admin service account I believe I will have to check with the DBA. If the original DBUser was a Windows Admin but is no longer would this effect our abbillity to Administrate the Gemini application? |

It must be something to do with the way the user is passed on through IIS. Can you test with having admin rights on the server? Can you still create issues etc...? |

Thanks for your help on this............. We can create Issues and I was able to make a user a project administrator through the db userroles table but that is the extent of my admin abilities on the app. I will see if a user with admin rights can act as administrator on the application. I will also try to find out what the logged on user looks like through IIS. Does anybody know If I upgrade does that have any effect on this?
Here is an error I'm getting now in the log..............Will this Help? Type is not resolved for member 'CounterSoft.GeminiLib.UserEN,CounterSoft.GeminiLib, Version=2.0.5.1111, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'. Thanks |

I don't think the upgrade will solve it, but I might be wrong.... As for the exception, it is a strange one but not related! |

Sara, I too have encountered a similar problem on my sons desktop. He can no longer update programs in XP even though he is the administrator. I am running SPYBOT S&D 1.4 and hope to find an issue. Will keep you posted |
