Cannot Login via desktop 3.6.4

I am unable to login via the desktop client.

Gemini seems to get a timeout when connecting. Is the URL correct?
Do you have a firewall or antivirus that might block it?

turned off firewall on machine. does this only come through port 80?

the URL is correct everything works fine via browser

Can you try and use Fiddler (http://www.fiddler2.com/) to capture the login request and execute it via fiddler?

not sure what you want with fiddler. i am not familiar with this program. i ran it an copied full summary and have pasted it below. please let me know if i need something else from fiddler and how to get it. thanks.

Much Googling and searching made me land here. I have more or less the same problem, with both the Outlook addin and the Desktop app. The steps I followed:

1. Install Desktop app

2. Run it.

3. Enter "Full Gemini URL" as it appears in the Admin screens of the web interface.

4. Enter username+password.

Result: i see three exclamation-mark-icons pop up right-side next to those 3 fields with a tooltip "Incorrect username and/or password". I triple-checked that I entered the correct info, exactly as I use it to log into the web interface (where it works fine).

We are running a rather old Gemini: 3.0.3 build 1998.

Any chance for some tips on how to solve or investigate it?

None of the new versions will work with 3.0.x.

You can download the compatible versions from:

http://www.countersoft.com/downloads/CounterSoftGeminiDesktopv300.exe

and

http://www.countersoft.com/downloads/CounterSoftGeminiTimeTrackerv100.exe

Note that you will need Microsoft's WSE 3.0 on the web server.
