Wrong user is used in history if issue is updated using batch update

web-app

I think this is a very big bug!

If you batch update issues the user that is used in the history entries is the user selected in the "Reported By" field and NOT the user that is logged in.

Could this be fixed asap?

Thanx

Bjorn

We will fix this for the next release: http://gemini.countersoft.com/Default.aspx?p=2&i=2993

Thanks for pointing this out.

Glad to see this is to be fixed. I just discovered this yesterday when I happened to notice it after a release, and then realized that it has affected a number of our recent releases. I came here today to see if others were seeing it.

Will the next release by any chance fix the data? Or, is there an easy way to do so ourselves? Having the wrong user shown raises some issues for us WRT proving that we're following our SDLC for regulatory compliance purposes.

BTW, the bug isn't so simple as using the reporter. Across all of the issues in the batch update, the value is set to the same user, whether or not that user was the reporter (or even related to the issue in any way). Perhaps it's using the reporter from a particular one of the issues, like the first or last.

Just to confirm the problem is the user shown in the history section, correct?

Unfortunately, there is no way to fix the data as we can not tell if the user in the issue's history is correct or not.
