Timeout exception when trying to do batch update

web-app

Hello.

I'm trying to update several issues at once with 'batch edit' feature. Unfortunately, I get this error message:

Timeout expired.

The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. at CounterSoft.GeminiBiz.7cdfe764c33c38b0.2b5e3ddc72e6a078(ArrayList afb0a93c20ddae57, Int32 5575a8aa585d598f, Boolean f48e746f869f7926) at Gemini.BatchUpdate.imgUpdate_Click(Object sender, ImageClickEventArgs e)

This happens when I select more than one issue. But when I do the same action with these issues one by one through the batch edit screen, it works without any errors. Can you give me some help with it?

Thanks!

Try to amend the gemini_getissue stored procedure and add (nolock) to the from:

...from issuesview(nolock) where issueid=@issueid

Thanks, it resolved my problem!

But can you tell me -- was it a bug or something else?

Thanks again.

It is to do with SQL server and transaction (mis)management by SQL server. This only occurs with SQL 2005.

Thanks to you too, you're right, I've installed Gemini on SQL 2005 :).
