Dependencies?

web-app

Is there any way now, or planned for the future, to allow one task/issue to be dependent upon another?

We love the issue manager so much, and being able to redefine "components", we started using it sort of as a project manager to track administrative type tasks.  All we need is to be able to make one issue/task dependent upon another and we have the core of a project manager.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Great product !

How do you link issues?

What were looking for was a way to:

1. Task # 1 starts on say December 1 and lasts 10 days (finishes Dec 10)
2. Task # 2 doesn't start until Task 1 finishes.
3. If task # 1 slips and doesn't finish until Dec 15, Task # 2 automatically shifts to now start on Dec 15.

This is a task dependency, task 2 is dependant on task 1.

You already have a Gantt chart creation link on the issues page, and Gantt charts are indivicative of Project Management.  So, someone in your organization realized that a project manager would like to view a gantt chart of all the issues/tasks and their dates.  In other words, you have the fundamentals for a project manager, if you could let tasks be dependent on other tasks..

I see, feel free to add this to our list: http://gemini.countersoft.com

You can link issues by clicking "Link" when viewing an issue.
