"Find Issue" Speed Issue

web-app

Hello,

we have installed Gemini 3.1.0. If somebody searches with "Find Issue" it takes a very long time (round one minute). During the search gemini is really slow.

I´ve checked the hardware during the search and the CPU time is at 2% and there are about 1GB memory free. For this reason I think it is not a hardware problem!

Is it possible to increase the speed of the "Find Issue" function?

Kind regards

Rainer Budde

3.1.x was optimised for a search as this. It seems like you might have a database issue here. Please try and re-index (update stats) on the whole database.

Check that the database does not increase in small chunks.

You could test this on our performance site: http://performance.countersoft.com/ this has 100,000 issues in it.

Hi,

I reorganized the database and checked to chunk size. All seems to be ok but the performance issue is still there.

Kind regards

Rainer

Are you searching for an issue id or text?

How many issues do you have on your database?

Could you specify your system setup? (OS, CPU, database etc...).

Hi Mark,

  • The databasesize is ~270MB.
  • The database contains ~9000 Issues.
  • Hardware: Gemini runs in our ESX Server 2,3 GHz CPU speed (1 core) and 1GB memory is installed.

I´ve updated right now to 3.1.2 and made a reorg of the database.

I´ve checked "Find Issue" with the word "asd" and it took 15 seconds. If I use an integer value it took 1-2 seconds.

Kind regards

1GB seems very low memory for an SQL server box, is SQL installed on this machine?

Hi Mark,

SQL2005 is installed on the machine. I will try to increase the memory on 2GB this day and will test the speed again.
