Hi,
The difference between these instances is described by me in previous mail.
Gemini instance work fine on separate website.
Gemini instance in virtual folder under website with DNN portal doesn’t work correct. (problem with administration tasks)
To start Gemini under DNN website we have done following steps:
- we added required DNN binary files to Gemini /bin directory:
- In Gemini Web.config we have add following lines: (added lines marked in
red color)
<httpModules>
<add name="GeminiHttpModule"
type="Gemini.GeminiHttpModule, CounterSoft.Gemini" />
<remove name="UrlRewrite" />
<remove name="Exception" />
<remove name="UsersOnline" />
<remove name="DNNMembership"/>
<remove name="Personalization" />
</httpModules>
- we have change the following in DNN web.config (old value commented
out, new value marked in red color)
<!-- set code access security trust level - this is generally set in the
machine.config -->
<!-- <trust level="High" originUrl="http:///domainname/.
" />-->
<trust level="High" originUrl="http:///domainname/" />
We work on Windows 2003 Server SP1, with IIS 6.0

Hi,
We have already tried it.
Another instance of Gemini placed in another point on the Server works all right with the same old Database. (We can perform Gemini admin tasks)

Hi,
Please try and install another instance of Gemini on another server and point to the same database you are using now. Does it work?

Subject: problem with gemini permissions
Hello,
We have 3 users with permission to work as Gemini administrators.
I noticed that our "Gemini administrator" users don't have possibility to
manage Project and security; they can only work as an issue administrators.
(Create and edit issues).
We don't see any errors.
We can't change security roles in Gemini.
Recently we haven't changed any security roles in Gemini. We checked
settings in DB and all of our users have role with symbol "G!", that mean
Gemini administrator.
We also tried to restore older DB from Backup and we still can't manage
Gemini as an admin.
Recently we have done following tasks with Gemini and environment:
1) Gemini update from version 2.04 to 2.05
2) Moving Gemini from separate Website on IIS to virtual folder Gemini under
website with DNN portal.
To start Gemini under DNN website we have done following steps:
- we added required DNN binary files to Gemini /bin directory:
- In Gemini Web.config we have add following lines: (added lines marked in
red color)
<httpModules>
<add name="GeminiHttpModule"
type="Gemini.GeminiHttpModule, CounterSoft.Gemini" />
<remove name="UrlRewrite" />
<remove name="Exception" />
<remove name="UsersOnline" />
<remove name="DNNMembership"/>
<remove name="Personalization" />
</httpModules>
- we have change the following in DNN web.config (old value commented
out, new value marked in red color)
<!-- set code access security trust level - this is generally set in the
machine.config -->
<!-- <trust level="High" originUrl="http:///domainname/." />-->
<trust level="High" originUrl="
http:///domainname/" />
We work on Windows 2003 Server SP1, with IIS 6.0
What should we do, to run Gemini correctly under DNN website?
Thanks in advanced,
