Delete User ID

I have a user in Gemini who has left the company. I need to therefore delete this person from Gemini. However, there are still a number of issues out there with this person's name on them (both closed and open) - i.e. they are the person who initiated the defect. So what happens to these issues if I delete that user? I would assume it would NOT delete every issue associated with that user? And then what happens to the issue itself - who shows up in the user/initiated by fields when that user is no longer in the users table?

The issues will stay, but if there are issues that the user is assigned to and they are not closed, the status will change to unassigned and the assigned to will go to nobody.

Mark: What happens to the user ID field of those issues that were created by this deleted user but assigned to other individuals? i.e. the 'Reported By' field?

The reported by (id) field will remain populated with that user id. Howevr, on screen the name of the reporter will be blank.
