Thanks for this. We will be fixing this ASAP, we will have a new 2.1.1 soon. |

I'm on version 3.x and when we click "forgot password", no e-mail is sent. I'm currently on the complimentary 5-user version and can only use my existing accounts. So - I'm stuck. Inactive accounts count towards the 5 licenses and so I can't simply create a new user. i can't seem to delete the inactive account. Where should I look to configure the forgot-password e-mail? |

Did you configure the SMTP settings? This is how Gemini sends emails. Also, check the error log. |

Hello - We are e-mailed everytime a new ticket is sent into Gemini as well as when a ticket is updated. I thought this meant SMTP was fine but I think I'm wrong - the "Test" on the Administration tab does not generate a test e-mail. Does this make logical sense (that Gemini can send e-mail but the SMTP is broken?) I'll see if they've changed the account and passwords on me. I'll aslo see if I can find and check out the error log (we're a team of 2 at a small school, I"m the BA so not much tech experience)Thanks much! |

Aer you using the scheduler service for email alerts? |

Yes - we have the scheduler installed and working (whoo hoo!). We e-mail requests into gemini tickets and it sends and acknowledgement to the sender. Then, it sends an update when the issue is modified. |

Ok, so this must be permissions issue. As the forgot password email goes out from Gemini itself and not the schdueler service. Are there no errors in the log when you click on the password reset? |

No error messages at all. I click reset password from the Admin tab, get nothing. user clicked forgot password from the welcome page, no e-mail. We are only a handful of users, none of us received the e-mail. |

Realized I can see the error log from the Administration tab, System Info section. Our error-log is not set up properly so errors are not being logged. Is there a place for me to specify where Gemini should put the error log? Right now, it's coded to C and we do not allow access to the root. I'm not sure which config file I need to update. Really appreciate your help on this! |

Got it to work. Taking the steps below allowed the "Forgot Password" e-mail to successfully send. The details from my friend: The "Network Services" account needs to have write access added to the permissions of the log file "GeminiSMTPLog.txt" located in the root C: directory (please verify the name of the file). Also, be careful not to provide this account with any additional permissions to the directory. It would be nice if future versions included the ability to move the default location of the smtp log file to a different directory (as you can do with the pop log file). |
