Unable to change e-mail alerts for other users

web-app

Hello,

A user setup as ADMIN can seem to do everything in the user security section. Project Management, Issue Management etc. etc. However, is as ADMIN I go into a project and select e-mail alerts, I can only set them for myself, not for the other resources. Is this by design or a bug ?

Why as Admin do I need to give myself project lead rights or whatever for that particular project when I can do all other admin stuff without it ?

Using 2.0.2 currently.

Thanks for your help in advance !

Rick..

Hi,

Sounds like a bug -- please raise issue @ gemini.countersoft.com.

Thanks.

We are also running 2.0.2 and as admin I'm able to change email alerts for other users.

Go to Project Home > Email Alerts > you'll be redirected to "Configure Project Email Alerts".

Normally a dropdonw list comes up, where all registered users are available. Select the user you want to configure and check the alert boxes below to set the mail alerts.

I too can change it for some projects but not for all. The dropdown just doesn't appear until the admin is added in with specific access. I'm trying to narrow it down but having some trouble.

Yes, your right, as long as you do not assign yourself to security scheme e.g. "Project Administartion" for that specific Project, you can not set Alert Mails for other users, regardless if your an Gemini Admin or not.

I tried my self also. I am an Gemini Admin, created a test project and added my self to security scheme "Viewer" of that test project, and I was not able to set "Alert Mails". After I changed my security scheme to "Project Admin" I was able to do so.

Not nice, but at least it works :)
