Import to existing project from CSV

migration

Hi there,

I'm trying to import some issues using a CSV file to a project we've already created. I'm able to load the file in the import tool and the preview looks good. I check the box for import to existing project, but when I click the import button it comes back almost immediately and the only output in DebugView is:

[7504] CounterSoft.Gemini.DataImport 3.7.2 Build 2784: Start Importing
[7504] CounterSoft.Gemini.DataImport 3.7.2 Build 2784: 0 Project(s) mapped, 0 issue(s) imported successfully.

The file I'm trying to import has the values for the project I want to use in the project fields for each issue (actually only one issue while I'm figuring this out). Is there some magic incantation that I'm missing? The only thing in the docs about importing to existing projects is when importing from another instance of Gemini, am I going to have to do a two-step process?

Thanks!
Jeff

When you click the "import to existing project" box you are shown the mapping screen. Did you map your project, components and versions?

The mapping screen didn't come up. Hmm. (v3.7.2 Build 2784)

If it didn't come up then it is more than likely that the CSV file is not in the correct format.
Do you see the preview of the data ok?

Yes, the preview seems okay. Guess I'll start changing stuff at random to see if anything helps.

Send us the file (support at countersoft dot com) so we can test it.

Aha! I found that I had Version ID instead of VersionID and that seems to have allowed the mapping to work. Note that I got this from the table in the docs. Though it looks like the heading in the sample CSV is correct.

Now I just have to figure out why all the line breaks in my description field are disappearing.

Thanks!
