Handling a mix of domain and non-domain users

admin
security

I'd like to start using the Active Directory import of users and Windows authentication to control access to Gemini, but I have a significant number of users who are not domain members (external customers, etc.).

One suggestion I have seen in the past to overcome this is to use two websites referencing the same database, one (with Windows authentication) for domain users and another (with Forms authentication) for the non-domain users.

One glitch I can see with this is the links on the notifications sent out to issue watchers - clearly, these would have to be different for the two user groups. Is there any way to achieve this?

Not out of the box unfortunately. What you can do is amend the scheduler service to check which user is a domain user and which is an extrnal and set the url accordingly.
