After creating New Item, does not navigate to the New Item

We just upgraded to 4.0 this week.

In my Profile I have the "After Creating Item" field set to "Navigate to Item".

I create a New Item, and when I click "Add", the Item is created, but instead of being taken to the newly created Item, I am back at the page I was on (for example, the Project Summary Page).

In 3.7 (and earlier), I was taken to the newly created Issue.

Also, I set the "After Creating Item" field to "Navigate to Items List" and it did not work either.

This is because you are using the create item popup. Click on new item and it will work as expected. This has not changed since 3.6.

Thanks for the quick reply. That explains what is happening.

Unfortunately it is not intuitively obvious when the popup is going to be used. When I hover the mouse over "New Item", a drop down menu appears with the various Item Types for that Project. If I click on one of those Item Types, the popup is used to create a new item of that type.

If I instead click on "New Item", then the popup is not used, and an Item is created using the default Item Type.

Again, thanks for the reply. Now I know what is going on.
