Mail config query
Hi, I am new to a company that is using Gemini so I am quite unfamiliar with it myself. We'd like to set it so that people can opt to receive emails for projects, but always receive an email notification if a new issue is assigned to them, or an existing issue is reassigned to them from someone else.
Could someone kindly clarify the combination of email options that would be required to acheive this? We are using the "MailPlugin" for the email alert engine. Also the version of Gemini is v3.6.5 Build 2638 (which we are going to upgrade in the near future)
Please let me know if you require further info, thanks in advane!

You will need to set the "Email issue resource" to "Yes" in the Administration -> Notifications page and make sure that "Issue watcher alert" is enabled on the same page. |

thanks for the response, those settings are set like that. it seems to get the desired result the current issue resource would need to delete themselves from the watcher list if they are reassigning it to someone else and no longer want to be updated about the issue. we also have a project lead that is getting emails every time an issue is created/reassigned under his project. is there a way to stop this happening? we have tried setting his "email me my changes" to "No" under his profile but that does not seem to have made any difference, are there other configuration items somewhere to stop this? another project lead on a different project with the same settings is not being emailed everytime issues are created/reassigned under his project which is how we would like to set it for all projects.. thanks |

The project lead should untick (all) alerts in their "Email Alerts" for the project (top right). |

Thanks, that was the issue. We thought all options were unticked but the "enable issue ASSIGNED alerts" option was selected for that project lead. One last question, is there any option to configure how the watching part of issues works? As in, any way to configure it so that you are only a watcher of an issue while it is assigned to you. This is so once the issue is passed on you dont continue to be emailed as a watcher (without deleting yourself manually off the watcher list) |
