Email Notifications Don't Work

emails

I can get a test email sent to me and I get an email if I request a password reset but none of the notifications work. I'm totally new, just trying out Gemini (liking it so far). I've got my project preferences set to send emails for everything. Same for the other 2 users, but we get nothing.

Where do I look next?

What is your email engine set to (Administration -> Notifications)?
If it is the mail plugin, check Gemini's system log. If it is the scheduler, have you installed it?

Also, on the notifications page, are they all enabled?

It is set to MailPlugin. The system log has 11 errors in it but none of them seem to refer to email. The only one from today starts with "Could not load file or assembly 'AppWebza0nm6am, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified"

All notifications are enabled according to the Administration\Global\Notifications page

Can you please try restarting the app pool, and add yourslef as a watcher, update the issue, does it work?

I don't know how to do either of those things. I know how to restart IIS. When you say update the issue you mean change one of the issues to trigger an email? If I update one that is assigned to myself will it send an email?

Go to IIS and expand the application pools node, restart the Gemini application pool. Another way is to save the web.config file.

Yes, add yourslef as a watcher (Watch action on the top right when viewing an issue) and update an issue. Now make sure you are set to recieve alerts and your own change in the "Profile" page (top right).

My version of IIS (5.1) doesn't have application pools. I saved the web.config instead.

I don't see a place to add myself as a watcher. I do see a bar of actions that includes "Stop Watching". Is that what you mean? If I wasn't watching it would say "Watch"?

My email alerts for the project are all selected in the All Items column. My profile has email alerts set to Yes including "Email me my changes".

I've installed the scheduler now and have set the site to use it. The interval is 5 minutes. The service is running. I waited 15 minutes and got nothing.

What's next?

Which version of Gemini are you running?

The about page on the site only tells me that there is a new release. It doesn't say what the current version or release is. I downloaded it from your site last Thursday if that helps.

So, it should be 4.0 (see bottom of your Gemini).

Can you please check if the gemini_issuealerts table has got any records there?
If it doesn't, update an item and check again.

The version is v4.0.0 (build 2995).

I updated an issue. I changed the detailed description and modified a user defined field. There are no records in the gemini_issuealerts table.

Are you sure that the settings (Administration -> Notifications) are set to the scheduler service? Can it be that the email alerts enabled is set to no on the same page?

That's the question I'd ask next. Yes, they are all set to Yes or checked. I can't upload a screen shot to your forum so I put one in my Picasa.
