Watched Issues Problem

web-app

I have been using gemini by myself. I recently convinced my small business of 12 people to begin using gemini. I have added the other 11 people and linked issues to them (added them as watching open items). Before releasing it to them, I tried logging in as one of the new users to see if they could see the items they are watching, but the items are not showing up. I can see all issues, but the watched items do not show up under "My Work" and there is no section for watched items. Am I missing something?

Which version of Gemini are you running?
Watched items are not your work. They are items you are interested in (eg. like to get alerted).
If you assign the issue(s) to them then they'll see them under "My Work".

Thanks for the quick reply. I believe I found the "My Watches" section under the dashboard, which I didn't even know existed until now! One more related question: sometimes jobs will be handed off to each other (user 1 finishes part, user 2 takes over, soon back to user 1). Is the best method for this simply changing the assigned resource to user 2?

Yes, what we suggest is the user enters a comment to say he has completed and assign to the other user (maybe change status as well).

And another: some of our users have work that is vey private to them. In some cases, they would like the work item to remain private so only they can see it. Other times, they would like to share with one or two more people. If I implement the portal group as described in the admin documentation, will User 1 be able to create a private issue and add Users 3 and 7 (arbitrary) as issue watchers, allowing them to see the issue and comment on it? If not, what is the best way to make this happen?

If you set the "only view own issue" permission then the user will only see issues they have created or assigned to. I don't believe that that's what you are after.

Instead what they can do is create global / project group for issue visibility. so for example create a global group called "User 1" and assign user 1 to it. Now user 1 can mark his issues' visibility as this group and no other user can see it until user 1 changes visibility.
