"Days Left" Field

What is the field "Days Left" for? I guess it shows the number of days between current date and due date, but I did not managed to see it filled with the value...

And if this field exists and even is shown by default on Issue Age Report, why do not make it working as I have written before, exactly to show the number of the days between the current date and the due date? Negative as well, and the issue itself with the red colour in this case. Would be useful, or?
