change status right of an issue

web-app

Hello,

I have the problem, that a user who is supposed to change the status of an issue can't do so.
The project's rights are handled using project groups.
The project group the user is in has the right "Update Issue Progress".
The Workflow gives the status-right to "everyone (authenticated)" where everyone (including this user) is a member of.

When the user edits the issue he doesn't even see the status.
The project doesn't have a "Field Visibility Scheme" assigned.

There is an interesting behavior that might help solve the problem.
The global group "Developers" which has been created when installing still exists.
Allthough this global group should have no connection whatsoever with this project (it doesn't get any rights in the projects security scheme and not one status in the workflow has this group selected), if the user becomes a member of this group he has the right to change the status (and much more) when editing an issue.

can there be some other connection between a global group and a project (aside from the security scheme and the projects workflow)?

This is becuase the edit field visibility scheme does not allow the user (project) group to see the field.
Go to the Administration -> Issue Types and edit the issue type in question. Note the field visibility scheme that is selected for edit mode.

Now edit that visibility scheme to allow the user to view the field.
