project and issue visibility

web-app

I am having a problem with project / issue visibility.
I have created a project, which has a security scheme.
This security scheme has the "edit own issue(assigned)" right for a project group.
I have created a user "user1" that is a member of this project group for above mentioned project.
I have created an issue (using another account) and assigned that issue to "user1".
"user1" is only member of Everyone, Everyone(authenticated) and above mentioned project group.

When I now log in as User1 I cannot see the project in the project list.
The reason for this might be, that I do not have the right "view project" - is that the case?

In the Dashboard-section of the home-page (startpage) it says "1 open issues".
But when I click on the dashboard it doesn't show me the issues. It just says "no issues found".

on the other hand if I access the dashboard by clicking the "dashboard"-link in the upper right corner it shows me the issue under "my work" and under "my watches" but not under "dashboard".
clicking on the issue-link in the issue-list brings me back to the starting-page instead of letting me edit the issue.

I don't understand the behavior:
1. Is it correct that you only get the project shown if you have the "view project" right?
2. Why can I see "1 open issue" in the dashboard-corner of the opnening page and when I follow the link it says "no issues found"?
3. Why can't I edit the issue even though I have the "edit own issue" right?

thanx for any help

Yes, please give them the "view project" permission and all should be ok.

Thank you.
The "project view" did solve above mentioned problems for these users.

It looks like "project view" is prerequisite for any user who works with a project.
(As mentioned in the start post, the issue-handling doesn't work if you do not have "project view").
So, if "project view" is prerequisite to any issue related right, why handle it seperately and not give it to all users who have issue-rights in the project automatically?
Or is the issue-handling w/o "project view" rights a bug?
