Global reports/issue filters

web-app

Hi,

I am exploring the best way to provide global issue filters or reports.  We currently have 23 projects belonging to one label.  We need to provide line managers with a report showing all issues that are currently open for all 23 projects i.e. under the one label.  The only way I have found to achieve this is to create and save an issue filter that selects all projects under that label.

Is it possible to make this globally available to all users?

Also, I have looked into perhaps creating a report to achieve the same thing but can't find a way to create a report at the label level.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Chris

Unfortunately, there is no way of sharing filters at the moment. We do have it on the roadmap: http://gemini.countersoft.com/Default.aspx?p=2&i=1611
Note that you can select the label to select all projects under it.

As for the report, what would you like to show in the report? all the issues or breakdown by type etc...?

Actually, the ideal scenario would be to export the following columns to Excel:

  • Project Name
  • Component
  • Summary
  • Status
  • Age
Exporting to Excel currently allows line managers to sort the data as they please.  Providing a global filter would mean it could be done from within Gemini.  I was thinking that in the interim, a report might work for them.  I tried an adhoc report but not all of the columns I need are available so am currently pursuing writing a custom one.
