Why can't we close issues in Gemini?

Hi there, we've licensed and used Gemini for a month or so now but I can't see how we (the developers) or our clients are supposed to mark issues as closed, other than by changing the status through the "batch update" facility from the issues list. Please can I have some pointers?

Please make sure that the field visibility scheme(s) allows them to "see" the status field.
