Gemini 3.5.3 - Login Returning to Login
All,
I've just manually installed Gemini 3.5.3 on XP Pro SP 3 (IIS 5.1) with a SQL Server 2005 database instance. When I try to log into Gemini using the stock admin account using the machine name instead of localhost, it does not log me in and returns me to Main.aspx.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Odd... This behavior only occurs when I'm using IE 8. When I access Gemini using Firefox, it works fine. |

We have not seen this before, is the full gemini url setting set correctly? |

Yes, it is set to the same thing I'm using to access the site. Enforce Gemini URL is set to "No." Currently I have it set to: http://{machinename}/gemini/ Where {machinename} is the name of the system. The URL works when accessing the site, regardless of browser. I can successfully log in using Firefox or Chrome. Only IE 8 returns me to a page without logging me in. Very strange. |

Very strange indeed! We have tested Gemini with IE8 and did not see this before. Can you please try it on our site: http://gemini.countersoft.com? |

Well, I can log in on your demo server just fine using IE8. Bizarre. I'll continue to fiddle with it to see if I can sort it out. Any thoughts you might have would be welcome, though. |

Hm... I'm thinking something is borked on the IIS server machine. Not only am I not seeing the administration link, I'm not seeing any of the projects on Main.aspx when using IE. When I check the page source in IE 8, the missing content doesn't even appear, whereas when I look at the source in Firefox, it does. Perhaps I'm missing a patch on my .Net installation? Will continue to post updates. |

As I indicated in the original post, XP Pro SP 3 (IIS 5.1) with a SQL Server 2005 database instance. I gave up on IIS 5.1. It worked fine as a proof of concept for me, and I've moved the installation to an IIS 7 server. We're running fine now. Thanks for hanging with me through trying to get it to work on IIS 5.1. Fortunately, that wasn't going to be our production environment! ;-) |

Thanks for the update. Glad that IIS 7 sorted it. I must say it is very strange, we have not seen this before. |
