Custom Fields on Project Creation

Is there any way to add a custom field to the screen where you add a new project.

For example I want to add a customer drop down list when I create a project so I can link it to the customers we have in our financial system.

Unfortunately, no. You can add attributes (properties) to your project after creating it (Project Administration -> Project Attributes).
