Required fields for Custom Listbox Features

We have a custom field that has a listbox with a list of items. However, we are not able to make this field required for new bugs. Dotnet allows for validating for this type of field. why is this not an option?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to set a list or combo box as required in Gemini at the moment.

You can set defualt value for the field, which might help.
