Defining where this task/issue has been committed

web-app

Hi all,

Is there a way to add a customer attribute to projects?

As I would like to add an attr which I used to identy where the issue has been committed, as currently is hard to track if a task is on its own branch, (god for bid) on trunk or on a tag?

Thanks for any help with this,

I think what you are looking for is a custom field for issues, correct?

If so, then yes this is possible via the Administration -> Custom Fields page.

Many thanks,

I used to use JIRA and it had the same thing but for the life of me I couldnt see the forest for the trees there.

Thanks again.

No worries, please remember to set the custom field visibility in the field visibility scheme(s).

I presume you are referring to the view issue page, you'd like it to be below the type, status, due date etc... correct? If so, unfortunately this is not possible.

Ugly, would you care to explain why?

The box that it has shown is just floating in the main section of the window.
It doesnt lend itself to being relevant to any other infomatin,
I see it as important additonal information, and custom fields are just as relevant as the severity or the status of the issue.

I think any data like this should be easily see when scanning over the details of the issue, and it being over to the left in its own little box means you have to look over to the center where that box is.

Ok its not a massive issue, but I think is maybe a usability problem, I'd put it as a minor issue with a medium priority, lol.

It also takes up a lot of room for such a small amount of information.

Appreciate the info, feel free to add it to our list: http://gemini.countersoft.com

The problem starts when you have a text custom field with a large length...

Yeah I see what you mean about that, maybe an option to display it in the left would be the answer to it?

I will go look at putting in your requests for changes list.

I am very impressed with the new upade btw though, apart from the fact it took me nearly 30mins to work out how to change the status etc, lol.

Thanks for your help.
