Newly created status not appearing in drop-down list

We're using Gemini 1.9.1 and after we create a new custom status it is not appearing as an option in the drop down box.  I've mimicked the configuration of other statuses that are appearing but that has not resolved the issue.

You need to set the pre and post states of the other statuses to point to the new status.

Got it, the workflow is not bi-directional.
