Issue search yields inconsistent results

I am trying to determine which fields are included in the search when using the "Find Issue" search button at the very top of the app. Also, is this search equivalent to the keyword search on the issues summary page?

The 'Find Issue' function searches the following fields: Issue Id, Issue Summary, Issue Description, Comments, and Custom Fields across all your projects.

The 'Keywords' search in the Issue Filter pane on the issues summary (Issue Grid) page searches in Issue Summary, Issue Description, Comments, Custom Fields across selected projects in Issue Filter pane.

Can you also confirm that the 'Find Issue' function search is limited to only open items? as that is what I have observed...

The 'Keywords' search will search closed issues if you uncheck the 'exclude closed issues' checkbox

The Find Issue function searches for both open and closed issues if you search by Issue ID and only open issues if you search by a key word(s).
