Linked Task Behavior - "Duplicates"

web-app

When a task is linked to another task as a "Duplicate" is there a way for both tasks to move from state-to-state together automatically?

It seems to me that if one or more tasks have been linked to one "original" task as Duplicates, then as the original moves through the workflow, the Duplicates should automatically inherit those status changes as well.

We don't do this at the moment. The way we use it internally is to link as duplicate, closed it and mark it as duplicate (resolved).

That doesn't quite work for us. If the task is marked as resolved and the original task has not yet been addressed, then we are going to end up upsetting customers who may get the impression that we have fixed their problem when that is not the case.

Feel free to add it to our list: http://gemini.countersoft.com/default.aspx?GEM or get the source code license and implement it.
